The update to VS2005 SP1 (Service Pack 1) was a complete disaster. Most everybody had problems when deploying apps. Therefore, we’ve reverted back to not using SP1. Version 8.1.2 of the Chilkat .NET Components were released today. These have no dependencies on the SP1 runtimes.
