To determine the cryptographic service providers (CSP) , including those for smart cards, that are currently installed on a computer, run regmon.exe and browse to this registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Cryptography\Defaults\Provider
You will see a listing such as this:
